Thompsonville, MI — Wednesday afternoon was the Lake Michigan Ski Conference’s Championship race, which provided medals for the top ten skiers in both events and also announced this year’s All Conference Skiers at the awards ceremony following the race. The LMSC awards its top fifteen skiers All Conference honors and the Scots had four skiers earn the recognition. “Glen Lake’s girls team was tough this season and I want to congratulate them on winning the conference. Our girls really made some huge improvements this year and are building a foundation to move the team forward in the future.” Coach Petrosky “I haven’t mentioned Kylee Zimmerer much this season, but she has had a great year. She transferred schools and MHSAA did not allow her to ski on our varsity team but she really worked hard and ended up 6th in the conference. We are excited about having her on the varsity next year along with the rest of this year’s sophomores and freshman. These are great girls who are becoming very good racers—we are excited to see what the future brings. Our seniors and exchange students will be missed, they are an exceptional group." Chiara Marta had another great night racing, and broke Caledonia’s single season slalom win record with her 7th slalom win this year, and she has two more races left this season to potentially add to her total. Chiara earned a medal with her win, also earning medals in slalom were Zuzanna Poradzka (8th) and Liz Hilton (10th). Rounding out the scoring in slalom was Ada Decker with an eleventh place finish. Caledonia’s medal winners in giant slalom were Chiara Marta (1st), Zuzanna Poradzka (5th) and from the JV team Kylee Zimmerer (8th).
