The Boys Team---2nd Place in the LMSC
Thompsonville, MI — Wednesday afternoon was the Lake Michigan Ski Conference’s Championship race, which provided medals for the top ten skiers in both events and also announced this year’s All Conference Skiers at the awards ceremony following the race. The LMSC names its top fifteen skiers, using a World Cup points system, All Conference and the Scots had nine skiers earn the honor.
“First of all, I want to congratulate Glen Lake on winning the conference. They skied great all season and earned the championship trophy. Our guys really skied well this year and are really showing improvement. We are putting the pieces together for a team that will be a contender for years to come. “ Coach Petrosky “ David Potgeter was our lone senior on varsity, which means that we have everyone else back. David will be missed on the slopes, he is a great skier, but he adds a level of leadership that is hard to explain. He brings everyone up around him and I know that what he has done to bring our team up has rubbed off on those around him.”
The Scots ended up 2nd place at Wednesday’s meet and 2nd place in the overall standings. Leading the way in GS and earning a medal at this race were David Potgeter (2nd), Adian Brown (7th), James Prichard (8th) and Derick Prichard (9th). Jake Potgeter also earned a medal finishing 10th place.
Scoring for Caledonia in slalom and earning a medal were David Potgeter (2nd), Aidan Brown (6th) , Jake Potgeter (7th), and James Prichard (9th).
When the All Conference Awards were handed out a bunch of Scots were honored.
