Philadelphia, PA — The 125th Annual Penn Relays kicks off this weekend. Franklin Field in Philadelphia will be home for athletes, high school up through the Olympians, from all over the US and the World, to run in the longest running Track Meet in the World. The event is split into3 days with the boys 4x400 team of Isaac Yarnell, Braelyn Ross, Anthony Destefano and Andrew Chestney running on Thursday afternoon, while the girls 4x400 team of Elizabeth Frazier, Sophia Moyer, Adalai Carney and Emily Clapper will run in Saturday morning. The 4x400 heats consist of a waterfall start of 16 teams all vying for the inside position off the first curve. The girls heat contains a team from St Catherine High in Jamaica. The contingent of Jamaican supporters and the sheer number of high school teams in attendance is amazing. The Republic of South Africa is well represented on both the high school, collegiate and Olympic level. Those athletes lucky enough to attend, will be treated to an experience that of running in front of over 10,000 people. NBC TV always runs the experience Live on Saturday, so tune in.
