San Marcos, CA — The first round of the 2025 North Coastal league tournament was held on Tuesday afternoon at Twin Oaks Golf Club in San Marcos. This was the first of consecutive 18 hole rounds to determine the League tournament champion, which the Lancer squad won in 2024. Nine Lancers hit the links on a cloudy and cool day - the conditions were ideal for scoring with the greens being soft, light wind and the course shortened a bit. The result was that all 9 Lancers shot 76 or better. Leading the way again was sophomore Kaden Chang with a 6 under par score of 66, which places him tied for second at the moment. Also sitting in the top 10 after day 1 are sophomore Kenyon Kahler with a 68 (tied for 5th place) and junior Cole Lohmeyer with a career best 70 (tied for 10th place). On the team side, the Lancers top 5 scores combined for a 3 under par score of 357, which places them in third place behind Torrey Pines HS (345) and La Costa Canyon HS (350). The final round will take place on Wednesday afternoon at the Pala Mesa golf course in Fallbrook.
