Hutchinson, KS — Buhler Invitational Race Recap 2025 Goddard Cross Country raced in their 3rd meet of the season at the Buhler Invitational Cross Country Meet 9/18/25. At this meet we raced against top level high schools and competed against top level runners in the state of Kansas. Historically Buhler has presented itself as a tougher meet for our team and today the Lions rose to the occasion and put up some AMAZING race times! Buhler is such a great race for our team as it allows us to compete and push ourselves against top level competition and compete on a challenging cross-country course. Us coaches are so PROUD of our team responded collectively following our race at Wellington with a lot of improvement in our race times. We did not come away with any medals or place collectively in the Top 3 as a team, but as a whole we had a lot of growth in our race times and we got better. That is how we will measure the success of our season and continue to GROW our young program! Leading up to Buhler there was a high emphasis on performing better as a team and improving upon our season best race times. After Wellington we had a quick turnaround to Buhler and we kept practices very light this week and it paid off for the Lions. Us coaches are extremely excited with the momentum we have leading into our home meet at Lake Afton next week on September 25th. The Lions will have the opportunity to practice on our home course and prepare for a great race! Highlights from Buhler 1. 21/34 (62%) of our runners ran either a new season best or new personal record 5k race time!!! 2. We had 8 Season bests ran and 13 new PRs ran as a team! 3.
