Concord, 94521 , CA — Our LadyWarEagles had a great tournament at the Contest of Champions. Unfortunately the team is a little smaller than when we started this season due to injuries but this small but mighty squad continues to find a way!! JV: JaJa 3rd Place Petrasunas 2nd Place Varsity: Xi DNP Merino DNP Bowman 6th Place Wurtzer 2nd Place Ferguson DNP The LadyWarEagles placed 14th of 69 teams!!

Ella Wurtzer

Ella crushed her way to another finals match, this time a spotlight finals at the Contest of Champions. Unfortunately she met the 5th in state wrestler and fell short of her 1st place goal this time. She continues to impress and is quietly making a lot of noise at the 130 lb weight class, can’t wait to see her run to the CIF championships this post season

Kaylee Petrasunas

KK had a pretty amazing day pinning her way to the Championship match! Considering this is only her 2nd tournament of the year, she’s finding her rhythm on the mat and it’s only going to get better! Nice job KK

JaJa tried a new approach and found her stride defeating 4x opponents in a row (5x wins total on the day) to make it to the 3rd-4th place match where she defeated her opponent 8-4 Great job JaJa
