Chula Vista, CA — The San Diego Masters Wrestling Tournament brought together the top wrestlers in the region with a spot at the California State Wrestling Championships on the line, and Valhalla Norsemen Wrestling rose to the challenge. Valhalla had a strong showing at Masters, finishing 8th out of 80 teams overall in a highly competitive field. Two Norsemen earned podium finishes and punched their tickets to the state tournament. Marcelino Nona placed 2nd, battling his way through the bracket to reach the finals, while Ivan Rivers finished 3rd, securing his qualification with a dominant performance in the consolation rounds. With their top-three finishes, both wrestlers will now represent Valhalla on the biggest stage in California high school wrestling at the state championships.
