A lot of fast skiers and big smiles in this group.
Belmont, MI — The Caledonia Middle School Ski Team traveled to Cannonsburg to race in the first South West Michigan Middle School GS Series race and they brought their A game. Tonight's race featured three runs on a course on the Quad and our skiers put down some outstanding times.
In the boys race, Caledonia had 4 of the top five times and were lead by Drew Potgeter (1st Place), Dan Calhoun (2nd Place), Miles Barnwell ( 4th place) and Graeme Wolverton (5th Place). Max Nordlund rounded out the boys team with a 19th place finish.
In the girls race, Caledonia had the top two skiers and all of our girls ended up in the top ten. Elsie Decker won the girls race , Reagan Slattery took second and 5th grader Taya Clement placed 9th, in a field of racers that included 8th graders.
Great Job Scots! The middle school's next race is Friday Feb 20th at the Caledonia Invitational on Cheers. The race will be against many of the same skiers as tonight and a few from the other school's competing in the High School's race that day.
