Naperville, IL — The first tournament of the season took place at Naperville Country Club on Tuesday, 8/19. The Vern McGonagle Invite featured the six main high schools that serve Naperville -- Waubonsie, Neuqua, Metea, Naperville North, Naperville Central, and Benet. Mina Shyam led the Warriors to a 3rd place finish in the 18-hole event with a 76 (+4), earning her 2nd place overall individually. Siya Sohal (88), Nitya Thapar (98), and Olivia Sheffler (113) also posted scores that factored in for the Warriors. Benet won the event, with Metea finishing second.
