Trumbull, CT — The Shelton High School Wrestling Gaels competed today at the CIAC LL Tournament held at Trumbull High School, and the Gaels had an outstanding showing. A team record 6 wrestlers advanced to next week’s Open tournament. Place winners included: • 5th place – Sam Careno and Ralph Franco • 4th place – Ricky Fernandez • 3rd place – Gabe Salsamendi and Ike Blomberg Leading the way was tournament champion Chase Galke, who picked up his hundredth career win and was also voted Most Outstanding Wrestler after pinning his way through a dominant performance.
