Testani & Kikani Lead Mustangs with a Pair of 80s in First Tournament at Tam O-Shanter
Plum Market Invitational
West Bloomfield Township, MI — WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI – Facing a field packed with top-tier talent, the Northville Mustangs varsity golf team demonstrated grit and steady play today at the Plum Market Varsity Invitational. Competing at the Tam O-Shanter Country Club, the Mustangs battled through a challenging par-71 course to post a solid team score of 333. The performance placed Northville in the middle of a highly competitive pack, finishing ahead of several strong programs.
The Mustangs were led by a pair of remarkably consistent performances at the top of the lineup. Both Anthony Testani and Shivam Kikani carded impressive rounds of 80, navigating the difficult layout with composure. Testani highlighted his round on the back nine, with a brilliant birdie on the par-3 11th hole. Kikani was anchored by a steady front nine, firing a 39.
Rounding out the team scoring were Andrew Prince, who finished with an 86, and Luca Vitalone and Dominic DiNick, who both battled through the tough conditions to card rounds of 87. A standout moment for the lower half of the lineup came from Vitalone, who found his rhythm on the front nine. He posted an excellent 38 through the first nine holes, which included six pars.
While the Mustangs are always chasing the top of the leaderboard, today's performance at Tam O-Shanter provided plenty of positives. With several invitationals still on the horizon, Northville is well-positioned to take the lessons learned from today's "grind" and turn them into even lower scores as the season progresses.
