Saline, MI — The Hornets delivered a dominant all-around performance this week, showcasing depth, development, and competitive fire across all event groups. Competing against Monroe and Ann Arbor Pioneer, both the boys and girls squads put together impressive team results, highlighted by multiple event wins and a high volume of personal best performances. Team Scores Boys: Defeated Monroe (105–32) and Ann Arbor Pioneer (86–51) Girls: Defeated Monroe (125–12), narrowly fell to Pioneer (58–79) Men’s Highlights The sprint group set the tone early with a strong showing in the 100m, led by Lennon Cohoon (3rd, 11.65), Cruz Hanson (4th, 11.77), and James Rush (5th, 11.81). The depth was evident, with a large number of athletes recording personal bests across the field. In the 200m, Jack Walden led a 1-2 finish, winning in 23.56, followed by Mason Kangas (23.79 PB). Hanson returned to win the 400m (52.01), while freshman Manuel Mirelez added a strong 3rd-place finish (57.04 PB). Distance events were equally strong. Wes Rogan captured the 800m (2:02.81), while Brennan Larusso (2nd, 4:31.46) and Jack Klein (4th) led the 1600m group. In the 3200m, Jacob Szalay (2nd) and Carlos Basulto (3rd) continued the momentum. The hurdles crew had a standout day, led by sophomore Chanon Palmer, who swept both the 110m hurdles (15.02 PB) and 300m hurdles (41.60). Youssef Jarouche added a runner-up finish in the 110s. On the track, Charlotte Warren and Addisen Freeburn led the sprint group, with Freeburn running a personal best 13.07 for 3rd in the 100m. Warren came back to win the 200m (28.68), leading a dominant 1-2-3-4 finish alongside Janaye Sifuna, Mahalia Staton, and Amelia Lorch. In the 400m, Staton placed 3rd, while multiple underclassmen posted personal bests, highlighting continued development.
