El Monte, CA — Riverside Prep Track & Field continued to show strong progress this past week with multiple personal best performances and competitive finishes across the board. On the girls side, our sprint group had an outstanding day. Leah Stallings led the way in the 100m with a personal best time of 13.46, a significant improvement from her 14.58 mark last season. Kira Silva also had an impressive meet, recording two personal bests in the 100m (14.01) and 100m hurdles (18.80). Kayriel Myles continued the strong showing in the sprints with a personal best of 13.75 in the 100m. On the boys side, our distance group made a big impact. Alejandro Gonzalez, Anthony Cruz, and Derek Ramirez-Morales each recorded personal best performances in the 1600m, highlighting the continued growth and development of our distance program. Our relay teams also had a strong showing. Alejandro Gonzalez, Anthony Cruz, Derek Ramirez-Morales, and Logan Adling combined to place 4th in the 4x800m relay with a competitive performance. In the 4x400m relay, Alejandro Gonzalez and Logan Adling teamed up with Fernando Flores and Caleb Johns to run a season-best time of 3:48, finishing 4th overall. Overall, this meet was a great step forward for our program. The number of personal bests and strong relay performances reflect the hard work our athletes are putting in each day. We are proud of the way our student-athletes continue to compete and represent Riverside Prep, and we look forward to building on this momentum as the season progresses.
