Dexter, MI — Women’s Recap The Saline women’s team put together a strong showing at the Dexter April Showers, highlighted by standout performances in the distance events and relays. Distance group led the way. Katarina Munson delivered one of the top performances of the meet, winning the 800m with a 2:17.20 PB, followed closely by Lilli Schlack in 2nd (2:19.16 SB). In the 3200m, Savannah Staton turned in a huge race, placing 3rd with a 10:42.40 PB. The 1600m group added depth, while freshman Caroline Cotner highlighted the future of the program with a 5:50.40 PB. Sprints and relays showed strong execution. The 4x100 relay team of Charlotte Warren, Addisen Freeburn, Amelia Lorch, and Janaye Sifuna captured 1st place (51.66). Warren also added a 4th place finish in the 200m, while Addisen Freeburn ran a 1:03.20 PB in the 400m. Field events contributed key points. Amelia Lorch (2nd) and Mahalia “Mimi” Staton (3rd) led the long jump group. Megan Sweet and Jenna Sweet both cleared 4'6" in the high jump. Melissa Leventhal added a top-5 finish in pole vault. Hurdles and mid-distance depth continued to improve, with multiple athletes contributing and gaining valuable experience in a competitive field. Men’s Recap The Saline men’s team had a strong showing against deep competition, highlighted by elite performances in the hurdles, distance events, and field events. Hurdles were the highlight of the meet. Chanon Palmer dominated both hurdle races, winning the 110m hurdles (14.65) and 300m hurdles (39.91) in impressive fashion. Freshman Dezmond MacDonald added a strong performance in the 300m hurdles, continuing his development. Distance group showed major progress. Ryan McGillicuddy (2:01.92 PB) and Jack Klein (2:06.70 PB) led the 800m group. In the 3200m, freshmen Gavin Bast (10:11.07 PB) and Will Sollenberger (10:24.95 PB) both delivered big personal bests. The 1600m and freshman mile groups added depth, with multiple athletes setting personal records. Sprints and relays competed well. Gabe Warren led the sprint group with a 100m PB (11.62) and a strong 200m performance. The 4x200 relay team placed 5th (1:32.75) against tough competition. Field events added strong marks. Alexander Stockton took 2nd in the high jump (6'0") and added points in long jump. Youssef Jarouche placed 2nd in long jump. Anthony Beaulieu recorded a personal best in pole vault (10'9"). The throws group showed consistency, led by Kameron Lewis with a season-best in discus. Overall Takeaway Competing in a large, competitive field, Saline athletes continued to show progress, resilience, and growth, with numerous personal bests across both teams. The meet served as another strong step forward as the team builds toward the heart of the season.
