Flora, IL — A Strong Start to the Season: Our girls opened the season with a strong showing WINNING 2nd PLACE at Flora’s Wolfgals Invitational (5 games away from 1st place). Highlighted by an incredible performance from our singles lineup, matches were held against Benton, Flora, Herrin, Marion, and Mattoon. RESULTS: #1 Singles – Sr. Kara Moore: 5–0 #2 Singles – Sr. Katya Chyzhyk: 5–0 #3 Singles – So. Clara Park: 4–1 That’s a combined 14–1 record in singles! In doubles, Juniors Katrina Huang & Kalli Jones battled their way to a 3-2 record, while Seniors Aubrey Bahr & Madelyn Dixon stepped up and gained valuable match experience in their first competition together, finishing 1-4. Overall, the girls showed a lot of fight, competed hard, and gave us plenty to be excited about moving forward. The season is just getting started, and there’s a lot of tennis still to be played! We are proud of the effort and fight.
