Blue Jays Set for Saturday Intrasquad Scrimmage

Description

The Westminster College football team will take an important step toward the 2026 season with an intrasquad scrimmage Saturday at noon in Fulton, Missouri at Kent and Judith Mueller Stadium.  The scrimmage will give coaches an opportunity to evaluate players in game-like situations while the Blue Jays continue preparing for next week's season opener. Fans can expect a competitive afternoon as returning players work to secure key roles, and newcomers gain experience their first live action at the college level.  For Westminster, the event is about more than the final score. Coaches will focus on more detailed execution, communication, discipline, and depth on both sides of the ball.  The special-teams will have a few reps as the team works to identify the strongest combinations and schemes before regular-season competition begins next week.  Saturday's scrimmage will provide the Blue Jays with a valuable measuring stick and help set the tone for the final stretch of preseason preparation. At the conclusion of the field events, parents will be providing a post-scrimmage meal for players. Westminster is scheduled to open its 2026 season on September 5 at Manchester University in North Manchester, Indiana. wcbluejays.wcmo.edu
