Los Angeles, CA — Great day for racing. Almost everyone dropped time compared to last week - including a few people who dropped more than 2 minutes. Split day for the team. 2 wins for the girls. 2 losses for the boys. JV girls had an exciting race. We were tied through the first 4 girls. The team who had the next girl come in would be the winner. We anxiously waited at the finish line to see who would be the next runner to come off the hill... until we saw Mary come out and head to the finish line. She beat the Bernstein #5 girl, giving us the tight 27-28 win. They are 2-1 on the season and with wins the next two weeks are in the running for 1st place in the league. Varsity girls took the comfortable 19-38 win. They are 3-0 and on track for a 6th consecutive league championship. JV boys went up against the league leading Bernstein team. Bernstein won the race by taking the first 3 finishers, but then we had 8 of the next 9 to come in - showing off the depth the JV team has. 25-32 Var boys put up some great times this week - including Gustavo moving up to 2nd overall in the league, and Cesar inching closer to breaking the 18 minute mark. But in this case, we couldn't overcome Bernstein's depth in their 3-5 positions, so the boys take the loss 22-34.
