Riverside, CA — Sunny Hills Lancers competed against 34 teams in Division 2 at the Riverside Invitational, walking away with 5 Personal Bests for the invite. Girls Varsity kicked off Division 2 with Esther Fee finishing 3rd with a time of 18:40.8 and a personal best for the invite by 34 seconds! Samantha Mejia had a strong showing with a 3 minute and 13 second improvement with a time of 22:02.2! Julissa Herrera also had a huge improvement by 2 minutes and 4 seconds with a time of 22:43.8! Girls Varsity finished 10th out of 20 teams. Boys Varsity had notable performances by Zachary Gomez and Emiliano Zavala. Zachary finished 4th with a time of 15:42 and a 49 second improvement from his time last year at the invitational. Emiliano came in 2nd for the Team and had a 50 second improvement from his time last year at the invitational with a time of 16:53.9. Boys Varsity finished 22nd out of 26 teams. Girls Frosh/Soph was ran by Asmaa Aldein and Khyla Moore. Asmaa finished 67th with a time of 25:59.5 and Khyla finished 112th with a time of 36:01.8. Boys Frosh/Soph was led by Ryan Kim who finished 101st with a time of 19:57.7. Close behind him was Ishan Patel and Sergio Perez who finished 112th and 113th, respectively. Boys Frosh/Soph finished 23rd out of 28 teams. Boys JV finished the racing for Division 2. Robert Flores led JV with a 5th place finish and a time of 17:30.6. Boys JV finished 18th out of 19 teams. Sunny Hills takes on Freeway League Finals on Friday, November 1 at Clark Regional Park at 1PM.
