Midland, MI — Pride 21 6th grade girls were in a battle to kick-off the tournament in a back and forth game had them trailing by 3 points at half time with a score of 16-13. Real and Pride 21 both battled tough on the defensive ends of the floor. Real shot less then 20% from the free throw line which came back to cost them big. Pride went on a 7-0 scoring run in the final 3 minutes of the game to turn the game upside down and take the lead that they did not relinquish. Akira Santos lead Pride 21 with 11 points, 6 steals, and a lot of scrappy rebounds. Emani Garcia and Khloe Morris both added 4 points to help with the scoring also. Pride 21 will move on to take on the Storm Elite 6th Grade team next with their sights set on winning again to advance to the championship.

Mt. Pleasant, MI — In a game that was right at the fingertips of Pride 21 they just couldn’t grab the win. Fastbreak was able to hold on and slowly extend to a double digit lead with under one minute left in the game and went on to hold Pride 21 off for a win. Pride was lead by Jazelle King with 5 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Pride 21 was weighted down by their turnovers this game. Pride 21 will need to eliminate unnecessary turn-overs if they plan to bounce back Sunday.

Mt. Pleasant,, MI — Pride 21 6th Started their winter season out with a hard fought win. Pride 21 started out slow but once they got the defense going it was no turning back. Jazelle King led Pride 21 with 6 points,12 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 blocks. Akira Santos was the spark that got Pride going as she entered the game and got 8 steals along with 7 points and 7 rebounds. Novella Irwin added 5 points and 5 rebounds for Pride 21. They were able to keep Storm Elite at bay giving up only 10 points in each half.

Mt. Pleasant,, MI — Pride 21 came out with no energy and played very flat. Quest who is a well disciplined team took advantage of 24 Pride 21 turnovers. Quest slowly pulled away but Pride 21 showed some fight in the second half. Cutting the lead to 7 points before PG Milly Garcia went down with cramps which changed the game as Quest turned the pressure up on defense. Valicia Ramirez led Pride 21 with 7 points and 8 rebounds while she was all over the court again even in the big loss with Milly Garcia adding 5 points and 5 steals.

Mt. Pleasant,, MI — Pride 21 7th grade girls kicked off the season with a big win! The first half was close due to the Storm knocking down five three-pointers. Pride 21 took control in the second turning up the defense while only giving up two second half points. Pride 21 was led in scoring by Brooklyn Baldwin with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Valicia Ramirez was all over the floor as she posted a double-double with 13 points 11 rebounds and handful of steals and deflections. Milly Garcia controlled the pace the whole night for Pride 21 and orchestrated a beautiful offensive game plan. Pride plans to grow on winning the first game of their winter season.
