Brodheadsville, PA — Early Lead For Pleasant Valley Seals Fate For Easton Area Red Rovers Varsity The Easton Area Red Rovers watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-3 loss to Pleasant Valley on Saturday. The Rovers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Pleasant Valley, giving up nine runs. Pleasant Valley opened up scoring in the second inning, when Pleasant Valley scored two runs on a balk and a stolen base. Easton scored three runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower was led by Max Squarcia and Patrick Keegan, all driving in runs in the inning. Pleasant Valley scored five runs in the fourth inning. Pleasant Valley's big inning was driven by a single by Ryan Kymer, a home run by Jake Gethen, and an error on a ball put in play by Dominic Payan. Brandon Ratti toed the rubber for Pleasant Valley. The bulldog allowed two hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out 11. Justin Johnson was on the hill for Easton. The lefthander allowed seven hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Jacob Hirner threw two innings in relief. Isaak Torres and Keegan each collected one hit to lead the Easton Area Red Rovers.
