Brodheadsville, PA — Easton Area Red Rovers Varsity Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Pleasant Valley The Easton Area Red Rovers snagged a late lead and defeated Pleasant Valley 13-5 on Tuesday. The game was tied at four with Easton batting in the top of the fifth when Braydon Hubbard singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Pleasant Valley scored four runs in the second inning, but the Rovers still managed to pull out the victory. Pleasant Valley batters contributing to the big inning included Nate Loch, Brandon Ratti, and Zach Walters, who each had RBIs in the inning. In the top of the third inning, Easton Area Red Rovers Varsity tied things up at four when Frank Castrovinci singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Easton put up seven runs in the seventh inning. Hubbard, Castrovinci, Ethan Reccek, Justin Ramirez, and Max Squarcia each had RBIs in the big inning. Justin Johnson led things off on the hill for Easton and lasted six innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out five. Ratti started the game for Pleasant Valley. The pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on five hits and striking out six. Dominic Payan and Chris Frable entered the game as relief, throwing two-thirds of an inning and two-thirds of an inning respectively. Easton's Braydon Hubbard had a solo homer in the seventh inning. Easton racked up nine hits on the day. Reccek, Ramirez, and Hubbard each racked up multiple hits for the Rovers. Hubbard, Ramirez, and Reccek each managed two hits to lead Easton while the team was stealing seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Hubbard led the way with two. Ratti went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Pleasant Valley in hits.
