Redondo Beach, CA — Even though Hemet gave up five runs in the seventh inning, they still defeated Redondo Union 9-5 on Tuesday. The big inning for Redondo Union came thanks to a walk by Alexandra Hamilton, a single by Ella Zimmerman, and a double by Carly Koltko. The Bulldogs got things started in the first inning when Payton Priefer singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Angela Witmer led the Bulldogs to victory on the rubber. The ace went six and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out two. Kassidy Long threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Long recorded the last out to earn the save for Hemet. Hemet racked up ten hits. Priefer, Rebecca Sanchez, and Witmer each managed multiple hits for the Bulldogs. Priefer went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Hemet in hits. The Bulldogs didn't commit a single error in the field. Brooklyn LaChappa had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
