Fabens, TX — The Wildcats came into Friday night's game as a slight favorite over the San Elizario Eagles. After several close losses to quality opponents, the Wildcats, were able to notch their second victory of the year, and first district victory, to secure a spot in the Texas High School Playoffs. The Wildcats played all three phases of the game well. They scored in all three phases led by Isaac Urrutia's two punt returns for TDs. Matthew Gonzalez had a defensive TD after he picked off an Eagle pass that was tipped by #20 Derreck Navar and returned it 50 yards for a TD. The offense was led by hard running from Anthony, Rivera, Isaac Urrutia and Drew Belshe. Erick Ortiz was able to hit pay dirt from 12 yards out early in the 1st half to start off the Wildcat scoring. It was a great team win for the Wildcats. So many contributed to the win and so did all three phases of the game. The Wildcats have a bye this week and will travel to Mountain View to take on the Lobos in the season finale on Nov. 5th
