Santa Barbara, CA — The Buena frosh played the San Marcos frosh on Thursday and won the game by a score of 14 to 6 to go 4 - 4 on the season. Defensively Joshua Jimenez had a key interception in the first half that led to our first touchdown and a 7 - 0 lead in the game. The defense also had a key goal line stand in the first half. The stand was led by two loss of yardage plays by Jackson Carter and one by Jonathon Cortez which ended the San Marcos drive. Also playing well on defense during the game were Aaron Cesario, Tyler Pham, Jacob Rodriguez, Tauha Siddiqi and Grant Barajas. The punting of Roman Chavarria controlled the field position which contributed to the win. Big plays on defense late in the game by Jackson Carter and Grant Barajas sealed the win. Tyler Hoff again led the way on offense with two touchdowns: the first a tough 4 yard run and the second a 38 yard touchdown pass from Elijah Paris. Joy Lazaro kicked both PATs in the game. Ventura will not field a frosh team this year and for the first time in over 37 years there will not be a BUENA VS VENTURA FROSH GAME.... what a shame! Therefore the Buena frosh will play Simi Valley frosh on Thursday at Simi at 4:00 pm.
