Ventura, CA — The Buena frosh played the San Marcos frosh on Thursday and won the game by a score of 16 to 8 to go 5 and 5 on the season. We played well on defense with many players contributing to the win and on offense we scored just enough points to win the game. Leading the way on defense was Joshua Ullegue who had a pass deflection and an interception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to ice the game. Arron Cesario had an interception as did Tyler Pham that ended the game in the fourth quarter. Joshua Jimenez, Jackson Carter, Grant Barajas, Jordan Abdulhay and Jacob Rodriguez, who had a fumble recovery in the 3rd quarter, all played well. Offensively we did just enough to win the game. Playing well were Tyler Hoff who made an amazing catch at the five yard line to set up our first touchdown by Aaron Cesario two plays later. Later in the third quarter Joy Lazaro kicked a 25 yard field goal to give us the lead for good 10 to 8. Michael Gibson was perfect on the day on all the punts ,field goal and point after touchdown long snaps and Roman Chavarria's punting kept San Marcos pinned back in their end of the field. The Buena frosh finished the season strong with three wins in four games to end our season a tribute to our players and my coaching staff.
