San Diego, CA — JSerra Lions 8 - 7 victory over the Dons of Cathedral Catholic. The game with the Dons of Cathedral Catholic was a battle from the FIRST WHISTLE and was a big step for the teams progress of winning with Grit and Determination. We battled all of the Elements you can imagine, including tough refs, 65 football players doing stomping cleat cheers, and a very rough and tough group from CC. Our boys played tremendous Team Defensive, and battled through a tough night of shooting. We missed early on with our open scoring opportunities, but we made up for the misses with awesome counter defense and multiple blocks by Jack. Jack had another outstanding performance, making blocks at all the key moments of the tightly contested game. The boys also capitalized on scoring 3 goals off of 5 meters exclusions - and we made 2 clutch goals in the 4th qrt to seal the quality Win. This game was similar to the old saying “winning ugly” - but it was a very emotional game and played out with very aggressive play by both teams right to the last possession of the game. These are the Games that build character and confidence for our boys …. We are truly on the Championship Path for sure… this game really showed our progress is growing.
