Aliso Viejo, CA — Wolverines are tough animals and the Aliso Niguel girls are tougher. Perennial powerhouse in the South Coast, Aliso took us to the woodshed today with a 12 - 6 solid victory. Their coach liberally subbed after round one and also defaulted a couple of matches that they really won in the last round, (KOach allowed them to sub illegally to form a couple of better matchups in the last round). Their league allows for subs to go out and come back in, but, not play out of rotation or switch from singles to doubles or visa versa. The total game count was 93 for Aliso to 41 for the Lions... Elise, Kylie and Gabbi all had one great singles set. Elise and Kylie played theirs in round 3 matches and Gabbi's was in round one, their players are very solid and the bench depth is good. One very bright spot for the Lions was Aerin and Anna's continued success in doubles...having taken 2 of the 3 sets they played, 6-3 and 6-1, falling to Wolverines line #1team in round 3. Their doubles winning percentage is incredible and will remain to be paired throughout the year. We travel close to home again, Thursday, to San Juan Hills HS attempting to keep this annual match closer than today's result. GO LIONS !!!!!!!
