San Diego, CA — Pirates played an amazing game on Friday against a strong, top D2 team, Clairemont. The Pirates came out strong with a United from and worked hard the entire game. While a couple athletes on the other team showed poor sportsmanship and poor conduct, the Pirates stayed positive and focused. Goalie, Will Kreissig had an amazing game with 14 blocks, and great passing! So many of the Pirates played great and are showing tons of improvement every game. Torin Noetzel led the Pirates with 3 goals, while fellow Junior Felipe Ramos and Freshman Terrin Ing each had 2. Newcomers, Mathew Guzman and Aiden Chen each had assists for the Pirates, as well as returning Sophomore, Nate Molenkamp. Six Pirates contributed to team steals defensively for a total of ten. Overall, the Pirates played great. They focused on spacing and passing on offense, which allowed for drives and resulted in goals. Defensively, Pirates played in a strong press defense (man to man), but communicated effectively when they needed to switch or help. Very proud of this win and their hard work!
