Los Angeles, CA — JSerra’s 12 game winning streak came to and end against the No. 1 seed Sacred Heart Prep, losing 10-6. The Lion’s razor thin roster was put to the test with Johan going down to injury and not available for the game. It was a heroic effort given this was the 4th game in the tournament with our boys playing the majority of every game and very little rest. Everyone played hard the whole game. JSerra kept it close early, trailing only 2-1 at the end of the 1st with Drew getting the lone goal in the quarter. Things stayed pretty even in the 2nd with Will brining it to 3-2 at one point. The wheels fell off for the Lions in the 3rd with the Gators outscoring JSerra 5-0 and jumping out to a 10-2 lead. Our boys kept fighting and shut out SHP in the 4th while netting 4 goals. Will scored on two 5m goals with both penalty shots being earned by Drew. Will had one other goal in the quarter and Mason scored a nice one with seconds to go to bring the final score to 10-6. Shout out to Jack for some amazing saves against some of the best players in the country. Kudos all around to the defense who frustrated the boys from up north throughout the game, especially with our 6 on 6 half court defense. 3rd place game vs Harvard Westlake at 4pm.
