Uniontown, OH — The Lady Bears lost a heartbreaker at the buzzer to the Green Bulldogs with a final score of 47-46. The girls played hard for 32 minutes and came up just short. The bears were tied 13-13 at the end of the first quarter and then battled from behind most of the game, before closing in on the bulldogs in the 4th quarter. Megan Campbell hit a huge three with 4:20 remaining in the fourth quarter to put the bears up 44-43. Green scored a layup with 40 seconds left - Lauren Pallotta answered with a tough shot with 13 seconds remaining to put the bears back up 1 (46-45). Green got fouled on the floor as time expired and had a chance to inbound the ball with 1.4 seconds left on the clock. They hit a tough shot at the buzzer to take the win 47-46. Emma Dretke led the way with 22 points and 8 rebounds . Lauren Pallotta packed the stat sheet with 12 points/7 rebounds/4 assists/3 blocks. Megan Campbell had 12 points/4 rebounds and Leena Patibandla added 2 points/7 rebounds/4assist/3 blocks. Halle Ignacio played great defense and had 3 assists and only 2 turnovers. The lady bears will learn a lot from this and bounce back in a big way!! They’re back in action on Saturday @ Hoover!
