Marlboro, NY — Even though Burnt Hills gave up three runs in the fifth inning, they still defeated Marlboro Central 7-4 on Saturday. Marlboro Central scored its runs on a double by J Ryder. Burnt Hills got things moving in the first inning. Kyle DeCresce hit a solo homer. The Spartans put up five runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower by Burnt Hills was led by Luke Haluska, Matt Martin, DeCresce, and Noah DiCaprio, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. DeCresce took the win for Burnt Hills. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out four. Logan McNeal, Daniel Woloszyn, and Aidan Calhoun all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Calhoun recorded the last three outs to earn the save for the Spartans. M Valente took the loss for Marlboro Central. Valente lasted four innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out eight. Burnt Hills tallied two home runs on the day. DeCresce had a four bagger in the first inning. Haluska put one out in the second inning. Timothy Venditti went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Burnt Hills in hits.
