South Pasadena, CA — The South Pasadena Junior Varsity Tigers outlasted the Cathedral Phantoms 1-0 in a well-played pitching dual at home on Saturday. Carlo Williams was dominant over 6 innings, mixing his pitches and keeping the Cathedral batters off balance. Williams gave up no runs and struck out 3. Pitcher Benjamin Regan closed the door on the Tigers’ opponents, aided by sharp defense and a pickoff of a runner at first. The Tiger bats were quieter than in recent games. Nathan Olivarez had the lone hit, but with such excellent pitching, one run was all South Pasadena needed to notch another win in their impressive season. JV next plays Monrovia at home on Tuesday, March 1 at 3:15 p.m.
