South Pasadena, CA — South Pasadena Junior Varsity Tigers lost a close game 6-5 on Friday at home against Temple City. Each team scored one run in the early innings as Gabe Vogel kept command on the hill, striking out seven. In the top of the sixth, the Rams scored three runs to put them on top 4-1. In the bottom of the frame the Tigers put together an offensive barrage, with singles by Leo Castillo and Nathan Olivarez. and doubles by Carlo Williams and Eli Hall. When the inning was over, the Tigers had regained the lead 5-4. However, in the top of the seventh, Temple City added two runs. The Tigers needed more offensive magic to give them the victory. Castillo and Williams singled to start off the inning and Olivarez was intentionally walked to load the bases. Despite this promising start, the Tigers were unable to get a run across and the score remained 6-5. The Tigers meet up with the Wildcats in Monrovia on Tuesday.
