La Cañada, CA — The South Pasadena Junior Varsity Tigers made a valiant effort to come from behind but fell one run short of a league victory against the La Canada Spartans at home one Tuesday. Owen Woodworth began the game on the mound for the Tigers, going 5 2/3 innings. Leo Castillo and Tyler Vargas closed out the game. In the bottom of the seventh inning, trailing by 3, South Pasadena came to life with a walk by Gabe Vogel, and single by Vargas, and a double by Elijah Hall, closing the gap to one. Ultimately, the Tigers were unable to overcome the deficit and lost 7-6. The Tigers next face San Marino on Thursday, March 24.
