Darien, CT — The Stratford High boys varsity baseball team traveled down to Darien High School and came away with an exciting 3-2 victory over the Darien Blue Wave. Senior Brady Knorr led Stratford not only with a superb pitching performance but also with his clutch bat. Knorr pitched a complete game 3-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks, plus he drove in 2 big runs with 2 sacrifice flies. Knorr's other senior teammates also contributed in a big way. Senior Ron Kerkes went 2-4 with 2 stolen bases and 2 runs on Knorr's sac flies. Senior J.J. Romatzick was sure-handed out at shortstop and finished the day with a hit, a RBI, and 2 stolen bases. Senior Josh McDowell also chipped in with a hit and swiped 3 bases. And Senior Aidan Ormsbee boomed a long double to CF early in the contest. Junior Cam Kelemen scored Stratford's first run following a lead-off walk. Stratford returns to action for its home opener this Wednesday at 4:15 PM versus SWC rival Brookfield.
