Stratford, CT — Stratford returned to action on Saturday hosting Darien on the back end of the home-&-home with the Blue Wave. After going down early by two runs, Stratford first chipped away by responding with one run and then had bigger innings scoring six and three respectively as the final score turned out to be 10-2. Junior Joe Booska got the start on the mound, went six full innings, and was splendid as he only gave up 1 hit and two runs, both of which were unearned. He was relieved by Senior J.J. Romatzick in the 7th as the Stratford closer got some tune-up work to stay fresh. Romatzick also not only had a stellar day defensively out at shortstop, but he continued his consistent ways with the bat and getting on base. Stratford received all sorts of offensive contributions from Senior Ron Kerkes, Senior Brady Knorr, Senior Josh McDowell, Junior Jake Kszywanos, and Junior Conor Lesczczynski. Stratford returns to action with a SWC league home game vs. New Milford. The Penders Field start-time is 4:15.
