Stratford, CT — Stratford High returned to SWC league action on Monday facing New Milford on a cold, blustery afternoon at Penders Field. After Senior Brady Knorr got the start and cruised through the top of the first, Senior J.J. Romatzick continued his hot ways with the bat driving an opposite field blast over New Milford’s rightfielder for a triple and ended up scoring on an errant relay back into the infield. But that was it for Stratford with J.J. Romatzick’s run in the bottom of the first. New Milford responded in the third with 4 runs courtesy of some bad throws and miscues by Stratford and never looked back. They tacked on another run later as insurance. Stratford was led once again by J.J. Romatzick and his three hits. Junior Joe Booska chipped in with two hits of his own. Senior Josh McDowell came in and relieved Knorr late and pitched two solid innings. Stratford returns to action on Wednesday traveling up to Masuk for another SWC league game starting at 3:30.
