Sandy Hook, CT — A four-in-a-row hot Stratford squad visited Newtown High School on Thursday afternoon but came away cooled off losing a tough game 3-1. Stratford ace Senior Brady Knorr started, battled, and turned in a quality 5 innings only surrendering 6 hits, 2 runs (both of which were unearned) while striking out five and only walking one. Stratford had chances early to get out on top as both in the first and second innings they had the lead-off batter on second with no outs but never got either runner past third and ultimately to home plate. Senior J.J. Romatzick relieved Brady in the bottom of the sixth yielding one hit and one unearned run. Romatzick also chipped in with 2 hits once again with 1 stolen base and 1 run scored. Junior Jake Kszywanos single, doubled and 1 RBI. Junior Cam Kelemen came off the bench with a hard pinch hit line drive single to right center. Stratford was doomed throughtout the contest by early strikeouts, baserunning miscues and some defensive lapses.
