Vero Beach, FL — There were runs aplenty on Tuesday, as Master’s Academy Patriots defeated Morningside Academy Varsity Eagles 16-8. Morningside Academy Varsity Eagles fired up the offense in the first inning, when Addyson Brown grounded out, scoring one run. Master’s Academy Patriots pulled away for good with six runs in the third inning. In the third Katie Featherstone drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs for Master’s Academy Patriots, and an error scored two runs for Master’s Academy Patriots. Master’s Academy Patriots notched seven runs in the sixth inning. Bella Moore, Brooklyn Harvey, Melissa Viersma, Olivia Lore, and Moore each had RBIs in the big inning. Aubrey Grall was on the rubber for Master’s Academy Patriots. The ace surrendered eight runs on three hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Moore led Master’s Academy Patriots with two hits in two at bats. Alison Viersma led Master’s Academy Patriots with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.
