Panama City Beach, FL — Arnold Varsity Marlins fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 4-2 loss to New Hope on Saturday. New Hope took the lead on a fielder's choice in the second inning. New Hope got things moving in the second inning, when Eli Blair induced Adam Adair to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Dawson Lofton got the start for New Hope. The fireballer went five and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out seven and walking one. Blair was on the pitcher's mound for Arnold Varsity Marlins. The lefthander lasted four innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out two. Darin Watson and Ethan Gill entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one inning respectively. Warrick Wilmot, Casey Morgan, Christian Corona, and Ryan Laymon each collected one hit to lead Arnold Varsity Marlins. Arnold Varsity Marlins didn't commit a single error in the field. Brayden Black had four chances in the field, the most on the team. New Hope didn't commit a single error in the field. Hunter Carr had the most chances in the field with nine.
