Fort Walton Beach, FL — Cooper Moss came the ballpark and meant business on Wednesday, driving in six on two hits to lead Arnold Varsity Marlins past Choctawhatchee 13-3 on Wednesday. Moss drove in runs on a grand slam in the fifth. Choctawhatchee got on the board in the first inning when Kobe Riggs homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. Arnold Varsity Marlins evened things up at two in the top of the second inning. Josh Lindsey drove in two when Lindsey tripled. Arnold Varsity Marlins pulled away for good with four runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Moss homered on a 2-2 count, scoring four runs. Arnold Varsity Marlins notched six runs in the sixth inning. Arnold Varsity Marlins's big bats in the inning were led by an error on a ball put in play by Moss, Lindsey, and Brayden Black and a home run by Warrick Wilmot. Moss was on the pitcher's mound for Arnold Varsity Marlins. The pitcher went five innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out seven and walking one. D Rand toed the rubber for Choctawhatchee. The bulldog surrendered five runs on five hits over four and a third innings, striking out two and walking one. Riggs and Juan Gomez entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively. Arnold Varsity Marlins smacked two home runs on the day.
