Wichita, KS — Early season matchups have shown that there are no gimme wins in GWAL this year. KMC escaped with a 5-4 win over South, and BC squeezed out a 9-8 win over North. Heights has only 2 GWAL games played as they already completed their non-varsity schedule. Heights is 2-0 in league play, but 2-4 overall. These Falcons cannot be overlooked. Jeter has been stellar on the mound, but the boys have to improve at the plate and on defense. The base running woes appear to have been corrected for now. It's still early in the season, but these Pioneers (5-3, 5-1) can further establish themselves as a perennial state title contender if they take down Heights. The schedule only gets tougher from here. Update: The games are ON for Good Friday starting at 5 PM. We are back to at West Side Athletic Field.
