Salina, KS — Goddard Lions Varsity took home an 8-3 victory over Salina Central on Friday. Goddard Lions Varsity scored four runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught came from walks by Brandon Bosley and Mason Healy, by Lake Hamilton, and an error on a ball put in play by Seth Wilhelm. Colton Watkins was credited with the victory for Goddard Lions Varsity. Watkins allowed five hits and two runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out 12. Wilhelm threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Wilhelm recorded the last four outs to earn the save for Goddard Lions Varsity. Nick Clayson took the loss for Salina Central. Clayson surrendered four runs on two hits over three and a third innings, striking out four. Wilhelm led Goddard Lions Varsity with two hits in four at bats. Salina Central tallied nine hits on the day. Brooks Richardson and Keim-Owens each collected multiple hits for Salina Central.
