Whitehall, PA — The Easton Area Red Rovers Varsity baseball team snagged a late lead and defeated Whitehall 5-3 on Thursday. The game was tied at three with Easton batting in the top of the sixth when Brandon De la Rosa hit a solo homer. Ryan Taynton earned the win for Easton on the mound in relief. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking zero. AJ Thomas started the game for the Rovers. The lefthander lasted four and a third innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out nine. Easton tallied three home runs on the day. Cole Transue went deep in the third inning. Blake Heitzman went yard in the sixth inning. De la Rosa put one out in the sixth inning. The Rovers collected eight hits on the day. De la Rosa and Justin Ramirez each had multiple hits for Easton.
