New Castle, PA — The Barons hosted the B2 Bulls in a non-conference game at home this evening and gave the hometown crowd a show by walking it off in the bottom of the 7th inning. Matt Dubois started on the mound for the Barons and only allowed 2 runs early in the game. Matt tossed 4 complete innings to keep the Barons within striking distance. Brett Bobin came in to pitch during the 5th inning from 3rd base with the bases loaded and with a 3 pitch inning got out of it with no blood. Bobin threw 2 complete innings to keep the Barons in the game. In the bottom of the 6th pinch hitter Gabe Yanssens pulled through with a big hit that was the spark for the Barons to capture 1 run off Nathen Meeks broken bat ground ball and to cut the lead in half. Benny Dottle came in the 7th inning and closed out the Bulls to give the Barons a chance in the bottom of the 7th. Shane Cato hit a huge double to start the bottom of the 7th, followed by a Chase Tomko off the wall double, Anthony Ryan and Frankie DeLuca had huge walks, and finally Benny Dottle came up with the bases loaded and hit a hard ground ball past the shortstop to score Tomko for the win! Great team victory again for the Barons! The Barons head to Altoona Saturday for a double header against Johnston Reality.
