San Juan Capistrano, CA — In a non-league fill-in match, JV boys defeated the visiting Eagles from Santa Margarita 11-7, our 2nd win against them this year. They’ll be back next week for the determining league title match - our JV boys have a chance to be outright league champions for the first time in schools history. Save the date: April 5th. We substituted freely this afternoon, giving all the doubles players a chance to play twice. Thank you Michael Woodward for helping out today. Kudos to Michael who teamed with Max Chiotis for a critical 2nd round win; and to Ashton Peasley and Jordan Gessin, who won an exciting tie-breaker in the last set of the match up on court #6 with everybody watching. This was Jordan’s first set win of the season - well deserved! Singles swept again, winning all 9 sets played. MVP honors to all 3: Marco Belciano, Mikey Junge, and Captain Sam Gou. The last 2 of 3 sets played were at line 1 & 2 singles, with Sam and Marco battling back and forth against 2 strong opponents. Sam won 6-4, and Marco came back to force and win a tie-breaker - very good tennis being played by JSerra and SM alike. Next up: Tuesday April 5th, home vs SMCHS, 3pm.
