Game MVP

Brookfield, CT — Newtown High School’s baseball team visited Brookfield on May 3 and handed the Bobcats only their second loss with a 6-2 victory. Jake Hossler pitched a complete game four-hitter, walking two and striking out eight. Ryan Verdi had three hits, including a double and homer, knocked in two runs, and scored a run. Matt Pietrorazio had a hit, walk, two runs batted in, and run scored. Josh Rosen singled, drove in a run, and scored. Sam D’Aprile walked and scored. Hayden Conklin had two hits and an RBI. The Nighthawks fell behind 2-0 after two innings and put up all of their runs in the fourth inning.
