Burnsville, MN — Burnsville Varsity Blaze fought back after falling down by four runs in the first inning, but the comeback fell just short though, in a 5-4 defeat to Apple Valley Varsity Eagle on Thursday. The Blaze scored four runs in the failed comeback on a walk by John Santelman in the second, a single by Drake Sloan in the fourth, a double by Jonah Dawson in the fourth, and a double by Eli Keirstead in the sixth. Collin Heckman took the loss for the Blaze. Heckman allowed seven hits and five runs over five innings, striking out nine. Kierstad pitched a scoreless sixth inning, and Connor Quimby struck out one in seventh to close out the game. Burnsville Varsity Blaze scattered seven hits in the game.
