Easton, PA — Easton fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-1 loss to Nazareth Area on Thursday. Nazareth Area scored on a single by Smethers in the first inning, a double by Leopold in the second inning, and a home run by Butz in the second inning. In the bottom of the first inning, Easton tied things up at one when Dally's wild pitch allowed one run to score for the Rovers. Nazareth Area scored three runs in the fourth inning. Nazareth Area big bats were led by Butz, Dibilio, and Smethers, who each had RBIs in the inning. Dally was on the mound for Nazareth Area. The fireballer lasted five innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out nine. Jacob Hirner was on the hill for Easton. The righthander surrendered seven runs on nine hits over three innings, striking out five and walking zero. Ryan Taynton, Cole Transue, and Ryan Holmes each contributed in relief for the Easton Area Red Rovers. Justin Ramirez went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Easton in hits.
