Dana Point, CA — The Lady Lions traveled to Dana Hills, a heralded CIF powerhouse. Last years meeting was the first ever between these two programs, in which JSerra escaped with a narrow victory 10 - 8. JSerra has a much stronger lineup than last year's match vs. Dana, evident from the top down, as our 3 singles players were not involved; sophomores Halle and Jazmin were sit out transfers and Scarlett Vukich is a freshman. "I saw much improved focus and effort over last week's doubles play, excellent use of the Australian formation fro Anna and Aerin. It was a good environment for poaching and signaling, the girls took advantage of that," KOach Kirk noted. Everyone was an MVP, the four listed, swept all their respective sets 6 - 0 ! It's pretty evident by the scores that Elise, Kylie and Halle would have won their 3rd round sets too. It was nice to get the subs into the match. Subs Julia and Ellie filled in nicely with different partners while Cordelia provided timely excitement coming from behind in the last match of the day, winning 6-4. This preserved the 18 - 0 shutout. All - in - all, it was a great day; the girls have quite a few friends at this school that dropped by to watch, and KOach Kirk was able to catch up with long time acquaintance / All American tennis pro, Randy Verdieck from U of Redlands.. who has 2 grandaughters on the Dolphins team. The Lions travel Wednesday to Crean Lutheran. GO LIONS!
